Activities

Pack 866 provides many opportunities for scouts to participate in fun activities such as:

Pine Wood Derby Scouts each make their own wooden cars and race them against the other scouts in the pack.
Fall & Spring Campouts Family friendly, car style campouts.  Camp grounds are selected where families can drive to the location where they will setup their tents.  Most camps have electricity and running water at the camp site with restroom / shower facilities nearby.
Summer Day Camp Each June scouts have an opportunity to attend the Soaring Eagle District Day Camp.  Morning and evening session are available.  Scouts participate in archery, BB gun rifle range, golf, water bottle rockets and other fun activities abound.  Scouts often complete requirements for three to five badges during day camp.
Holiday Share A December evening of fun.  The past couple of years we built bicycles for the Elves and More organization, which gives bicycles at Christmas to underprivileged boys and girls
Wreaths Across America Scouts help lay wreaths on tomb stones at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Scouting for Food Scouts collect food for a local food bank.  Everyone has a good time and scouts learn about giving to others, less fortunate.
Scout Fair A Sam Houston Area Council event where scouts show-off their skills and have an opportunity to earn badges.
Popcorn Sale Scouts learn salesmanship and help the pack earn money for awards and fun activities.
Summertime Events Summer program for scouts that includes fun activities such as pool party, bowling, Astros baseball game, etc.  Usually one event in June, July and August.
