What is the Lion Cub Program?
The Lion pilot is a Boy Scouts of America program that is designed to introduce kindergarten-age boys and their families to the fun of Scouting.
The kindergarten-age boys participating are called Lions.
Lions must be 5 years old by September 30 to participate.
A kindergarten-age boy and his adult partner join and attend meetings and activities together.
As they complete the requirements for each adventure, Lions will earn an adventure sticker to be placed in their Lion Adventure Book.
Lions earn stickers, but not adventure loops (belt loops) as they will do in Cub Scouting.
The den meets for eight to nine months of the year, two times per month, once for a den meeting and once for an outing or pack meeting. The den meetings usually last for one hour. The outings and pack meetings are longer, depending on the activity.
