Tiger - First Grade
Tiger is the first step of Cub Scouting and is for boys in the first grade. The Tiger Cub motto is "Search, Discover, Share," and Tiger Cubs get to do all of those things: search out new activities, discover new things, and share them with others.
The first thing that Tigers (and all youth entering Cub Scouts) need to do is earn their Bobcat Badge. Among other things, that means learning the Cub Scout Promise and the Law of the Pack, so be sure to practice those at home and at every den meeting.

Next, the Scouts will work on their Tiger Cub rank. They work on five achievements:
- Making My Family Special;
- Where I Live;
- Keeping Myself Healthy and Safe;
- How I Tell It; and,
- Let's Go Outdoors.
Each of these achievements includes one family activity, one den activity and one "go see it" outing. After the Tigers complete their five achievements, they receive their Tiger Rank and can work on electives for the rest of the school year.
