WELCOME TO TROOP 136
Established January 1, 1960

Thanks for visiting the web site of the Boy Scout Troop 136 of Lino Lakes Minnesota.  The Troop is a member of the Northern Star Council, Many Waters District.  We are chartered through the American Legion Post 566 and have been in existence for over 50 years!
We have the proud honor of over 40 Eagle Scout members.

Boy Scouting is a valuable program which promotes character development and the fitness activities boys need while at the same time introducing them to new ideas and teaching them skills and values to carry with them through life.

Scouting promises you the great outdoors. As a Scout, you can learn how to camp and hike without leaving a trace and how to take care of the land. You’ll study wildlife up close and learn about nature all around you. There are plenty of skills for you to master, and you can teach others what you have learned.

While various activities and youth groups teach basic skills and promote teamwork, Scouting goes beyond that and encourages youth to achieve a deeper appreciation for service to others in their community.

Scouting provides youth with a sense that they are important as individuals. It is communicated to them that those in the Scouting family care about what happens to them, regardless of whether a game is won or lost.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, Scouting promotes activities that lead to personal responsibility and high self-esteem. As a result, when hard decisions have to be made, peer pressure can be resisted and the right choices can be made.

MERIT BADGES  Merit Badges are earned in each rank and most can be picked by the boys to match their interests.  You never know what you might try that could possibly end up in directing your studies and eventually become your career!

Also, the Boy Scout program encourages sports and other activities and is flexible in accommodating other schedules.  Boys are grouped into Patrols but can work at their own pace to earn rank advancements that fit into busy schedules.

Meeting Location

We meet every Monday at 7:00 in the Lino Lakes Elementary school cafeteria when the school is open.
About once a month we try and do a game night to get the boys active and keep them involved. The rest of the time we are giving the boys information about upcoming events, fundraising opportunities, and fun things everyone has to say.
